Fotos: El COMERCIO y EFE <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dos pioneros en la investigaci\u00f3n sobre la \u00f3ptica cu\u00e1ntica, el franc\u00e9s Serge Haroche y el estadounidense David Wineland, comparten este a\u00f1o el Premio Nobel de F\u00edsica.<\/p>\n<p>Un concepto fundamental para comprender sus estudios es el fot\u00f3n,\u00a0Cada una de las part\u00edculas que constituyen la luz y, en general, la radiaci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica en aquellos fen\u00f3menos en que se manifiesta su naturaleza corpuscular.<\/p>\n<p>El premio les fue concedido en virtud de sus \u00abinnovadores m\u00e9todos experimentales que permiten la medici\u00f3n y la manipulaci\u00f3n de los sistemas cu\u00e1nticos individuales\u00bb.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sus experimentos para \u00abcapturar at\u00f3mos\u00bb con carga el\u00e9ctrica, iones, o fotones en estructuras especiales, pudiendo as\u00ed observarlos y manipularlos. Para medir y manipular estos campos electromagn\u00e9ticos, se usan \u00e1tomos. Un ordenador cu\u00e1ntico permite hacer ciertas operaciones de forma m\u00e1s breve y por tanto r\u00e1pida y esa rapidez se traduce en velocidad de computo.<\/p>\n<p>Tanto Haroche, profesor\/investigador de F\u00edsica Cu\u00e1ntica en el Colegio de Francia y en la Escuela Normal Superior, como Wineland -quien es\u00a0catedr\u00e1tico\u00a0del Instituto Nacional de Est\u00e1ndares y Tecnolog\u00eda (NIST) de Boulder (Colorado, EEUU), han estudiado la interacci\u00f3n fundamental entre luz y materia, entre \u00e1tomos y fotones, con una metodolog\u00eda similar, aunque con un punto de partida distinto.<\/p>\n<p>Ambos se repartir\u00e1n los 8 millones de coronas suecas (cerca de 1,200,000 dolares) del premio, un 20 por ciento menos que el a\u00f1o pasado, por decisi\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n Nobel.<\/p>\n<p><ul id='postTabs_ul_115985' class='postTabs' style='display:none'>\n<li id='postTabs_li_0_115985' class='postTabs_curr'><a  id=\"115985_0\" onMouseOver=\"posTabsShowLinks('Premio Nobel de F\u00edsica 2012');
